This image pack contains 90 rare illustrations by Hans Holbein, who was a German and Swiss artist and printmaker in the 16th century. The images in your download have been scanned in from a collection of his work which was printed in 1867, including many lovely borders and different depictions of Death.

The famous Alphabet of Death, or L'ALPHABET DE LA MORT, also known as the Dance of Death Alphabet, is some of his most renowned work. Please note that the collection is slightly incomplete as he appears not to have published a J or a U in the set. You can find more information on it here: http://www.dodedans.com/Eholbeinalf.htm

Alphabet files are approximately 1100px by 1100 px, in PNG format with transparent backgrounds. Borders and margin illustrations range in size, and all are 300 dpi resolution, PNG format with transparent backgrounds. Perfect for your Halloween creative projects, or for anyone interested in art history of the medieval period.
