There’s something slightly alarming in crows dancing in cool winter air. Perhaps, they remind us of faraway black sails and long forgotten adventures.

This painting features minimalistic style inherent to best examples of Japanese art. It reflects traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi, that can be described as natural simplicity.

The style used is also known as sumi-e and suibokuga.

Stamp featured on the painting is the author’s “signature”, carved in tensho calligraphy characters.

Materials used: rice paper, Chinese black dry ink and animal hair brush.
