Most of these images come from the catalogs of La Samaritaine, which was a large department store in Paris. It was first built in 1869 and was remodeled and expanded to the point that in the 1920's it was in the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles, the current architectural styles of the time. In 1990 it was listed as a historical Monument. Unfortunately, it was closed in 2005 because the building was not up to safety codes. It was first place I stopped at on my first trip to Paris in 1988. (I have been 9 times.) You could go up to the rooftop and see a 360 degree view of Paris. It was amazing.

This clip art I created from vintage ads of the La Samaritaine prior to 1923 when the images were public domain. I recreated some of the lettering from the Art Nouveau Era as well as put a few Art Nouveau Elements in this listing.
This is my homage to this Paris Icon for I just loved going there. It will be developed into offices and apartments into the future.
