How to install a theme?

If you have bought a theme from Creative Market or Themeforest, please follow this steps:

  1. Unzip the theme package and open index.html in a text editor. Also, make sure that your text editor displays html tags.
  2. Highlight and copy entire document.
  3. Open https://tumblr.com/cutomize/your-blog-name — you must be logged in.
  4. Click on the Edit HTML link below the theme name.
  5. Select all of the current code and delete it.
  6. Click Update Preview and then Save — this sequence will reset all option from a previous theme.
  7. Paste the HTML code.
  8. Click Update Preview and if everything looks good click Save.

How to enable a theme for mobile devices?

All of our themes are designed to work perfectly on any device, if you would like to take advantage of that you have to disable Tumblr’s default mobile theme. To do so follow this steps:

  1. Go to the theme customization page.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the options panel and click Advanced options.
  3. Turn off Use default mobile theme.

How to set up Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is built into every theme and to enable it you have to paste your Google Analytics site ID (UA-XXXXXX-X) into Google Analytics ID field in the options panel on the customization page.

How to set up Disqus comments section?

To enable Disqus comments section you have to paste your Disqus shortname into Disqus Shortname field in the options panel on the customization page.

How to use Google Fonts?

If you want to use the fonts from Google Fonts paste the link into “Google Font 1”, “Google Font 2” or “Google Font 3” field in the theme customization page. Using other theme options you can decide when a font should be used.

How to enable Twitter feed?

To enable Twitter feed you have to connect your Twitter account with Tumblr. More specific instruction can be found here.

How to enable Flickr feed?

To enable Flickr posts feed you have to get your user id first and then paste it into Flickr User ID field in the options panel on the customization page.

How to enable Dribbble feed?

To enable Dribbble posts feed you have to get your access token first and then paste it into Dribbble Access Token field and type your username into Dribbble Username field in the options panel on the customization page. To get an access token you have to register a new application, you can do it here.

How to enable Instagram feed?

To enable Instagram posts feed you have to get your Access Token first and then paste it into “Instagram Access Token” field in the theme customization page.

To get one, please follow this steps:

  1. Login to your Instagram account. Go to this page and click the “Register a New Client” button
  2. Fill out the whole form. When you get it done, click the edit button on the top of the client. Go to the “Security” tab, and turn off “Disable implicit OAuth” and then click “Update Client” at the bottom of the page.
  3. Paste this URL in your browser window:
    https://api.instagram.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=%7BCLIENT_ID%7D&redirect_uri=%7BREDIRECT_URI%7D&response_type=token
    replace {CLIENT_ID} with the client ID retrieved from the client page, {REDIRECT_URI} with your Tumblr Blog URL and then you will be redirected to an authorize page, click “Authorize” button.
  4. Once authorized, you will be redirected back to your Tumblr blog. Check your browser’s address bar, the access token is the text after ”#access_token=“.

How to update a theme?

The update process is similar to the theme installation but there are some differences. To update a theme please follow this steps:

  1. Unzip the theme package and open index.html in a text editor. Also, make sure that your text editor displays html tags.
  2. Highlight and copy entire document.
  3. Open https://tumblr.com/cutomize/your-blog-name — you must be logged in.
  4. Click on the Edit HTML link below the theme name.
  5. Select all of the current code and delete it.
  6. Paste the HTML code.
  7. Click Update Preview and if everything looks good click Save.
